19th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards Virtual Event

On Friday 26 June 2020, LG Professionals SA rolled out the digital red carpet for local government via a live streamed virtual event for the Local Government Professionals Australia, SA 19th Annual Leadership Excellence Awards. Over 500 local government professionals tuned in to watch the celebrations, solidifying it as the sector’s premier event of the year.

“The event is a showcase of the amazing services and programs that local government delivers each year to our communities.  It’s an excellent opportunity to recognise and celebrate those achievements—it’s local government’s time to shine” said Taryn Sexton CEO, LG Professionals SA.

As Diamond Sponsor the LGFA has been supporting this event for many years.  Davin Lambert, CEO, had the honour of announcing the City of Holdfast Bay – The Kaurna Nation Partnership Team as the winner of the Community Partnerships and Collaboration award.

This award acknowledges excellence in community partnerships, and partnerships created to provide or improve services that strengthen and enhance the physical or social infrastructure of a region, including integration with the other spheres of government or non-local government entities.

It was awarded as recognition of the City of Holdfast Bay’s work with the Kaurna community to complete two significant initiatives that demonstrate the role that local government can play in indigenous affairs and reconciliation.

For more information on these and all other winners head over to the Local Government Professionals SA website.

Congratulations to all this year’s finalists and winners – the LGFA is proud to support this event and looks forward to continued involvement with LG Professionals SA.
