Who We Are
Following a refresh of the Board and Management, the LGFA developed its first Strategic Plan in 2021. The 2021 Plan guided the Authority through significant change via updated systems, strengthened governance, and improved stakeholder relationships.
With a solid foundation now in place, the LGFA is positioned for more ambitious planning with the aim of maximising the Authority’s value to the sector. This 2023-2026 Strategic Plan sets out aspirations, key strategies and timelines that will inform the LGFA’s annual Business Plans.
Unlike its inaugural Strategic Plan which centred on ‘getting our house in order’, this Strategic Plan is far more ambitious, with a stronger focus on partnering with the LGA to build financial management capability in the sector and using targeted programs to engage councils in emerging imperatives such as carbon reduction and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
